Halloween Carnival was a fun day for all. The different format worked brilliantly in the lower playground, with glorious weather! The Carnival and Silent Auction raised $10,000 which means PTA met its fundraising goals for the year!
Your fundraising support allows the PTA to continue to support our wonderful school staff in providing opportunities for students.

Join us for lots of spooktacular fun, tasty treats and bid on some amazing auction items. We have a live silent auction tomorrow for the kids, with kid themed baskets including unicorns, STEAM, Superheros, Harry Potter, Disney and more, amazing book buckets and our ever popular teacher experiences. Where else could you bid on a party with Mr Favorite doing the entertainment, have pizza with a Police Officer or lunch at a Fire Station, or be Principal for a day?! There are so many other fun things too. Come along and visit us and take part in the fun!
Visit us at the PTA booth on Thursday and Friday from 3-3.30pm to buy Halloween Carnival Wristbands for $10 per child. Adults get free entry! $10 gets your child unlimited access to all the games, craft room, haunted house, bouncy houses and magician at the carnival.
Tickets also available on Saturday. Bring cash to make the line go faster!

Kids' silent auction will be held at the Halloween Carnival, Teacher experiences and Halloween Book Buckets are available to bid on. This will be a traditional "in person" silent auction.
Gift baskets and other items from the online auction will also be available to see in person at the carnival.
Both auctions end at 5.30pm on carnival day.

Next stop Halloween Carnival! A new format this year - it will be on the lower playground and in the K-3 classrooms. Come and check it out!! New times too - 3-6pm!
Tickets for the carnival are in the form of wrist bands. $10 gets your kid unlimited games and bounces on the bounce houses. Adults are admitted for free.
Come and check out our new food vendors for this year including Sirphy, Daniel's Cafe for ice cream, Revolt for hot drinks and pastries and our old favorites Papa Murphy's. There will also be a cotton candy stand.
Attractions include new and revamped games, cake and prize walk, bounce houses, food vendors, silent auction, craft room and the most excellent haunted house. There will also be other surprises!
Silent Auction is going online, thanks to our friends at LAPS Foundation. Check back soon for the link to see all the wonderful items. Over $3000 worth of items generously donated for you to bid on!!
Our old favorite kid friendly auction items from the teachers will be back again. There will also be Halloween Book Buckets to bid on too! Come and see us for the kids’ silent auction on the day of carnival!

Thank you wonderful Mountain community. We smashed our fundraising goal and it’s still rising! At the last count you had raised $16,272 and it’s still rising! If you still have money to donate it is really welcome and means even more opportunities for great things at Mountain, including teacher grants, support for clubs and bigger and better Family and Community events. Water bottles for everyone at FunDRun
There are less than 24 hours left before we kick off FunDRun at Urban Park! The PTA in partership with the Kiwanis have water bottle gifts for all the kids. These will be waiting for the kids at Urban, already filled with water! These are beautifully modeled by the office staff Ranee and Tiffany. Please come along and support the students at Urban and also donate at moutainpta.org if you haven’t already!

We are excited to kick off our fundraising season with a target of $15,750. If every child raises $35 we will meet that target. We also invite community businesses to be our corporate sponsors.
Please join us at Urban park on Wednesday September 25th at 9-10.20 for K-3 and 10.30-11.30 for 4-6. Kids will be running and walking laps to the sounds of Mr Hinojosa’s awesome beats!
Your whole family is invited to come and eat breakfast with your Mountain student. We will be serving bagels, muffins, fruit, pastries, juice and coffee. You may bring a breakfast item to contribute if you'd like or just come and enjoy a break from making breakfast!
We are also kicking off the FUNd Run fundraising that day!
In order to keep the line moving we recommend:
K-3rd families eat at 7:30 AM
4-6th families eat at 7:45 AM
if you have kids in both of these grade ranges, please choose the best time for your family!
We are also in need of a few parents to help with set-up (6.45 AM), serving and clean-up (8:15 AM).
Open House is this Wednesday August 28th from 5.30-7. Here are the details from the Principal!
5:30pm – General Session – Meet in the gym for Mountain information from the Principal.
6:00pm – Visit your child’s classroom and new teacher. Your child’s teacher will tell you about how the classroom operates and what to expect this year. If you have two children at Mountain, don’t worry; you will have an opportunity to visit another teacher at 6:30pm.
6:30pm – Visit your child’s Specials teachers and Special Education teachers, the tables in the gym or visit your other child’s teacher and classroom.
Visit the PTA table to join, volunteer and buy spirit wear from the school store!
Today is the day, we find out who is in which class!
Come by the school at 2.30pm to see the class lists, meet your teacher and drop off your school supplies. If you ordered from 1st Day School Supplies, they will be in your child’s classroom. After you are done, come by the PTA table to cool off with a free Otter Pop and stock up on spirit wear from the school store.
If you ordered 1st Day School Supplies they will be delivered to your child’s classroom, in time for meet the teacher day!
We are excited for a new school year and welcome back out staff. The PTA have bought a welcome back gift which all teachers should look out for. Please also join us for our monthly PTA meetings in the library. We love to have the staff there!
